    • The verb preferir has an e ie stem change.
    • It can be followed by a noun to say what someone prefers or by an infinitive to say what someone would rather do or prefers to do.
    pref ie ren Uds., ellos, ellas pref ie re Ud., él, ella preferís vosotros(as) pref ie res tú preferimos nosotros(as) pref ie ro yo
  • Preferir
    • The verb preferir has an e ie stem change.
    • It can be followed by a noun to say what someone prefers or by an infinitive to say what someone would rather do or prefers to do.
    ¿Pref ie res jugo o leche? Would you rather go out or watch TV? Do you prefer juice or milk? ¿Pref ie res salir o ver televisión?
  • Poder
    • The verbs poder and probar have an o ue stem change.
    p ue den Uds., ellos, ellas p ue de Ud., él, ella podéis vosotros(as) p ue des tú podemos nosotros(as) p ue do yo ¿Nos puede traer otra silla? Can you bring us another chair?
    • Poder is normally followed by an infinitive to say what someone may, is able to, or can do.
  • Probar
    • Probar means to try something, as in to taste.
    pr u e ban Uds., ellos, ellas pr ue ba Ud., él, ella probáis vosotros(as) pr ue bas tú probamos nosotros(as) pr ue bo yo ¿Qué tal si pruebas la sopa? How about trying the soup?
