  • The benefits of our approach have been validated by almost every analyst, including Gartner, IDC, Osterman and Radicati. In 2004, Radicati conducted a comprehensive analysis of messaging cost across all major email vendors. The results were staggering with Mirapoint being ¼ the cost of IBM and Microsoft and ½ the cost of SUN and Oracle. The data was so compelling that in subsequent reports, at the request of Microsoft, the methodology was changed. On a 2007 report by Radicati on Exchange TCO the analyst included the foot note “our methodology has changed and cannot be used to compare to previous studies.” This was an effort to obfuscate the increasing costs and complexity of software-based solutions.

  • One of the key elements for our Enterprise vision is the integration with Microsoft Exchange from a collaboration and directory perspective. Our latest release of MOS provides for a key deliverable of this vision with Calendar invite interoperation. Users of a Mirapoint can send and receive calendar invitations from Exchange/Outlook users and have the ability to automatically add those events into their Mirapoint Calendar and vice-versa. This eliminates the need of cutting and pasting calendar events and allows for integration with mobile devices. This is re result of a major engineering effort and the re-write of our calendar to support client-centric calendar management. A team of 20 engineers led by the architect of Oracle’s Calendar Product invested 30 months to build what is now one of the finest calendar products in the industry today. We have done to collaboration what we did for email, make it scalable, reliable and easy to use.
  • SECURITY OVERVIEW: Our security offering uses a multi-layer approach based on Mirapoint and OEM technologies. This approach allows us to integrate best-of-breed technology into our products and keeps the appliances current with the market’s needs. Starting from the perimeter, we use Reputation Services and Mail-Hurdle to reject as much traffic as possible – minimizing increased volume from affecting the system. Email is Verified and Authenticated before its is filtered and classified, resulting in an efficient architecture. We use LDAP or AD to only filter mail that can be ultimately delivered.

  • ARCHIVING OVERVIEW Mirapoint’s approach to archiving is unique on two fronts We use and appliance form factor, just like on our other products, to simplify and minimize the complexities of having to deploy yet another message store. Resulting in a lower cost deployment and cost effective Archiving Solution We provide LDAP integration into the appliance so that end-users can log into the box and use to find missing emails. This has proven to be a huge time saver for IT departments and an elegant way for users to restore their mailboxes. The solution provides rich search capabilities and hierarchical storage (appliance -> tape) that helps the solution scale beyond the 8TB currently available in this design.
  • Note 1: IM proxy will wrap the IM transactions (eg. btw buddyA and buddyB) as an email and send it to a designated email account via SMTP. This email will normally be sent to journal account, so it doesn’t go directly to RazorSafe. Currently, Mirapoint has referral agreement with Facetime, and the product which will be used for this integration is IM Auditor Note 2: Tape backup encryption is optional Note 3: WORM tape media is up to customer’s choice of level of compliance
