"The Next Generation of Treatment, Training, and Technology With each new year of continuous operations in the asymmetric environments of OIF/OEF comes new lessons learned, new advancements made in the military healthcare community, and new challenges for the future. Medical advancements in treatment, training, and technology are helping to improve the level of care our warriors can receive from Level 1 to CONUS.
This summit is designed to highlight the latest technologies that our medical teams can utilize to improve their quality of care. While our medical community continuously strives for improvements in their clinical capabilities, their capacity to provide the best of care is often dependant on having the right equipment and technology in order to properly prevent, diagnose, and treat our wounded warfighters.
Current R&D efforts are transforming the medical community, and leading to advancements in medical are from Level1 to CONUS. As part of our Military Health Week, which includes the Battlefield Healthcare Summit sessions in the beginning of the week, these scheduled sessions allow the discussions to move beyond the purely clinical aspects in order to discuss the current technologies, tools and equipment, and R&D efforts that aid in the care of our warfighters.
Some of the topics to be discussed include:
Virtual simulation in training and rehabilitation
Effective communications from Level 1 to CONUS / health informatics
Diagnostic and treatment technologies for TBI and psychological health
Enhanced aviation and combat life support equipment
Advanced technologies for trauma and resuscitative medicine
R&D efforts in limb salvage and rehabilitation
