Tools for Attracting Money

I received an email some time ago from someone who had stumbled across my website: “Do you have
any specific tips, techniques, tools or insights about how I can attract more money into my life?”
I went for a swim in the sea and thought about what advice I should give; then I came back to my
computer and sent the following reply.
“First, you need to know what money is. Many people have some funny ideas about money that
interfere with their ability to attract more of it into their life.
“So, what is money? Simply said, money is the agreed upon mechanism for exchanging one form of
wealth for another; so you must decide what value you are going to create and offer to others in order
to have them decide to give you money.
“In addition to that, you need to understand that money is, like everything else, essentially energy; and
like all energy, it is attracted to other forms of energy that are in tune with it.
“The techniques for attracting money are quite simple. Money is attracted to order. Implement the
money mastery steps I have described before and repeat here again:
1. Spend less than you earn. This is so obvious that it should not even need to be said. However, we
live in a society that is predicated to debt financing. If you can't pay cash for it, do without.
2. Pay yourself first. Take 10% of your income and save it. Don't spend it. Don't lend it. Live off the
other 90%. That 10% will build your wealth. It is your foundation.
3. Get out of debt. The interest you pay on borrowed money, if saved or invested instead, would be
enough to retire on. Debt does more than make you a servant to money; it turns you into a slave.
4. Have multiple sources of income. Reliance upon a single source of income is a recipe for disaster. If
your primary source of income supports your lifestyle, your secondary sources will build your wealth.
5. Create passive income. So long as you work for your money, you are the servant. When your money
works for you, it is your servant. Simple, isn't it?
6. Invest in yourself. Wealth is a product of mind. Expand your mind. Educate yourself about wealth
creation. Learn, and then apply, the millionaire mindset secrets of the masters. Model what has created
success for others.
7. Create value. You have a unique contribution to make in the world. Get good at it. Figure out how to
enhance the quality of other people’s lives and then do it well. If you have a purpose in life, and if that
purpose somehow creates value for others, then you will be attractive to other people and money.
8. Sell yourself. Your own sense of worthiness is an important element of having abundance in your
life. You need to sell yourself to yourself. Build your self-esteem. You are already an awesome
creature; and, you can become more awesome. Know that.

9. Market your value. Let the world know what you have to offer. No matter what you do in life to earn
money, you need to let people know that you have something to add value to their life. Put yourself out
there. Let your light shine. The biggest and best tool you have for attracting money is your own mind.
All wealth is a product of mind. Money does grow on trees; but you must plant those seeds in your
mind, your imagination. You are not planting pennies in the hope of growing dollars. You are planting
ideas that will produce wealth/value for yourself and others.
The other main insight I can offer about attracting money is that what you focus your attention on is
what multiplies in your life. Most people who want more money actually focus on the lack they have
that causes them to want more money. You need to learn to focus your attention on the abundance of
money that exists in this world and understand that any amount you imagine can flow through your
hands.
And finally, always remember that you do not necessarily attract what you want, but you always attract
that which is most in harmony with how you are being. Become more and you will attract more.”
