      Disable Windows Aero Glass
Aero is generally responsible for the cool Windows 7 look, but at a cost. The Aero theme is very resource-hungry, which means that it can be responsible for your slow computer problems. Disabling Aero will free up system resources and make your computer run faster.

      2. Uncheck the Enable Transparency box and click Open classic appearance properties for more color options
      3. In the new window, select the Standard theme and apply it.

      2. Find bottlenecks
If you have a slow computer, there might be an application or a process that’s causing the problem. Use the Resource Monitor feature to find out what’s slowing you down, so that you will be able to fix it. To launch the Resource Monitor, click on Start, type RESMON and press Enter. There you will be able to see which processes are hogging your CPU,RAM, disk and bandwidth.

Once you find the bottleneck, you might be able to fix the problem there and then by using the context menu. And if you notice that your RAM is struggling from time to time, using ReadyBoost should help you fix your slow PC.
