    2. Random facts
      • In 1968 the APRA got awarded the ARPANET Contract to BBN.
      • In 1973 They began to develop something called TCP/IP.
      • In 1974 was the first use of the internet by Cint Cerf and Bob Kahn.
    3. More Random facts
      • The main reason the internet was designed was to provide a communications network that would work even if some of the sites were some how destroyed.
      • The internet began working in 1969 under a contract.
    4. Random facts Continued
      • Computer professionals used computers, and so did engineers, and scientists, and librarians too.
      • In 1991 the first friendly interface to the Internet was produced and the University of Minnesota.
      • The University wanted to create a simple menu system so that they could access files and information on campus through their local network.
    5. The Gopher System
      • Within a couple of years there were over 10,000 gophers’ world wide.
      • If your using the gopher system, it will be pretty easy to use first you type or click on a number to select the menu selection that you want to use.
      • The gopher is pretty nice to have.
    6. Other Information
      • The internet is a very interesting thing.
      • You can do lots of things on there, like for instance you can check your e-mail, and play games on there, also you can watch movies online, and you can look up recipes to cook things.
      • Those are a lot of different things that you can do on the internet.
    7. Other Information Continued.
      • The internet will change over the years, because it needs to change.
      • People in the early 1960s saw great potential value in allowing computers to share information on research and development in scientific fields, and also military fields as well.
