    • NEW RESPONSIBILITIES FOR BUSINESS OFFICE, DIETARY, LAUNDRY/HOUSKEEPING, AND REHAB DEPTS:
      • DESIGNATED PERSON TO REORT NUMBER OF STAFF WORKING IN THEIR DEPT TO IC
      • AVAILABLE TO ASSIST IN EVACUATION PRN
  • EMERGENCY PLAN
    • NEW RESPONSIBILITY FOR EVENING AND NIGHT NURSING SUPERVISORS BETWEEN 9PM AND 7:30AM
      • DURING THE DAY, RECEPTIONIST MAKES BACK-UP CALL TO 911 IN EVENT OF EMERGENCY (MR RED OR ALARM)
      • BETWEEN 9PM AND 7:30AM, NURSING SUPERVISOR WILL MAKE THE BACK-UP CALL
  • ELEVATOR DISRUPTION
    • ENTRAPMENT SITUATION
      • INTERCOM SYSTEM IN ELEVATOR ALLOWS CALLS TO JH PHONE STSTEM (EXT 141) FROM ELEVATOR
      • CALLS CAN BE MADE INTO THE ELEVATOR BY STAFF ALSO
      • IF A CALL FROM THE ELEVATOR BOUNCES TO FLOOR PHONE, NOTIFY MAINTAINENCE OR NSG SUPERVISOR
  • EARTH QUAKE
      • DROP -TO HANDS AND KNEES
        • BEFORE YOU ARE KNOCKED DOWN-PROTECTS YOU FROM FALLING BUT ALLOWS YOU TO STILL MOVE IF NECESSARY
  • EARTH QUAKE
    • COVER -YOUR HEAD AND NECK
      • AND ENTIRE BODY IF POSSIBLE UNDER A STURDY TABLE OR DESK.
        • IF THERE IS NO SHELTER NEARBY, ONLY THEN SHOULD YOU GET DOWN NEAR AN INTERIOR WALL (OR NEXT TO LOW-LYING FURNITURE THAT WON’T FALL ON YOU), AND COVER YOUR HEAD AND NECK WITH YOUR ARMS AND HANDS
  • EARTH QUAKE
    • HOLD ON TO YOUR SHELTER UNTIL THE SHAKING STOPS
      • BE PREPARED TO MOVE WITH YOUR SHELTER IF THE SHAKING SHIFTS IT AROUND
  • EARTH QUAKE
    • AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE:
      • EVACUATE IF NECESSARY USING RACE SYSTEM
      • PUT OUT SMALL FIRES
      • CHECK ON RESIDENTS, STAFF ,VISITORS
      • TURN OFF GAS PRN
      • BE PREPARED FOR AFTERSHOCKS
