There is no excuse for any of us not to exercise. As I belong to TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly – you can read about TOPS in an earlier blog HERE), I have heard all kinds of excuses from people. When I saw this very funny YouTube video of a “sea lion doing his exercise”, I immediately thought of certain people from my group.

Th ere is n o excuse for an y of us n ot to exercise. As I belon g to
T OPS (Take Off Poun ds Sen sibly – you can read about T OPS
in an earlier blog HERE), I h ave h eard all kin ds of excuses
from people. Wh en I saw th is very fun n y YouT ube video of a
“sea lion doin g h is exercise”, I immediately th oug h t of certain
people from my g roup.
‘It’s too cold (or hot) outside to walk’ – Th en walk in side. Go to
the mall and walk the whole thing! Fast walk th roug h
your h ouse, fron t to back as man y times as possible in a
certain amoun t of time. Work out to a prog ram on TV or DVD. Play a WII g ame th at g ets
you movin g . Use a treadmill. Go to a g ym.
‘It’s too expensive to go to a gym’ – Th en see th e above parag raph an d improvise accordin g ly.
Use stretch ban ds for a workout. Do some yog a, pilates, or just dan ce to a fast CD or son g s
on th e radio. Read this blog about Laughter Yoga th at makes exercise fun but still very
effective.
‘I’m too big and can’t move well’ – Th en use some of th e above ideas an d g o at your own
speed. Th e idea is to start movin g or you will g et to th e poin t wh ere it becomes impossible
to move. Usin g stretch ban ds wh ile sittin g is an oth er possibility. They even use this for
therapy for people who are confined to bed or wheelchairs!
Wait a minute . . . . . what was that about being
‘too big’? Take a look at th is h ilarious YouTube

train er. If he can do it, YOU can do it! Besides, a sea
lion doing sit-ups is the funniest thing I’ve seen
in a very long time!

If a sea lion doing his exercise isn’t enough to shame you
into doing your own exercise, you might want to ask
yourself “why?”. Are you afraid you’ll h urt yourself? Th en just really pace yourself; any
exercise is better than none! Will you be embarrassed if someon e sees you? Well, you
can’t possibly look as funny as that sea lion doing his exer cise!
Get really deep for a moment . . . . . maybe you are afraid of success! Maybe bein g
overweig h t an d out of sh ape makes you feel safe. Don’t laugh! This is more common than you
can imagine! If you h ave th ese kin ds of feelin g s, g et some coun selin g to fin d out wh at’s
g oin g on with you th at keeps you in th e sh ape you’re in . It would be worth every pen n y to
free yourself from such a burden .
The same roadblocks can happen to people in all areas of their lives. Th ey run from
success, n ot on ly with exercise, but with th in g s th at could brin g th em fin an cial success.
2. Th ey may be livin g with h urtful remarks from th eir own family an d frien ds: “You’ll never
amount to anything!”, ”You aren’t smart enough to make money from home.”, an d th is old
ch estn ut: “Quit fooling around with a home business and get a real job!”
If any of those remarks sound familiar in any form, you’ve got to get them out of your head! You
are smart enough, you can do it, and you are worth it! Th ose are th e th oug h ts th at
sh ould fill your h ead n ow.
I work from home and I am succeeding. So g lad I foun d a fully-optimized blog system
th at is easy to use, even without prior experience! I can write about an yth in g I wan t, even
exercise. Th is is someth in g th at can be don e from h ome, at th e park, on vacation , or
wh erever else you feel like. It’s something you can do any time of the day; whatever time
works best for YOU!
