Satu Mare Satu Mare Presentation Transcript

  • Every day life in our region
a brief collection of photos taken in
    Satu Mare County
  • Important buildings
On the left, you can see our Administrative Palace, the highest building in Romania.
Beneath, there’s the Roman Catholic Cathedral. Both pictures are taken from The Firemen’s Tower.
  • On the left, we have The Firemen’s Tower. Beneath, our Fashion House, a very funny looking building, that I shall always call “The Barrel”.
  • Every day life?
Come on, since when is our every day life about the buildings we pass by every day?
We have to take it a day at a time, don’t you agree?
And a day without a smile is a lost day, some say. So, in my opinion, life is all about fun.
Although our little town is beautiful, it isn’t quite Las Vegas, we have to be pretty creative to find new ways of having fun, each season.
  • Autumn
Always raining, leaves are falling, cold is setting in… not much to do! That’s when indoor activities take over, such as partying, playing poker, playing the guitar, reading.
  • You might also want to visit Carei, a small nearby town, with the beautiful neo-gothic KarolyiCastle and a imposing monument for the Unknown Soldiers who died in World War II.
  • Winter
Although Satu Mare lays in a quite flat region, you only have to drive for about 100 km to reach a skiing resort, such as Cavnic (in the bottom left corner) or Suior (in the right). Skiing, snowboarding and snowmen are kind of popular among young – and incredibly young – people.
  • Spring
Spring brings back the adequate weather for picnics, and the beautiful forests around Satu Mare (eg: Botiz, Oteloaia, Negresti) are perfect for such get-away’s in open air.
  • You can always take a walk near a peaceful stream, or relive your childhood and play in our Rome’s Park.
  • Summer
Altough summer is the season to pack our bags and leave, before we do that we might go swimming in Carei, which has wonderful swimming pools, a couple of times, or get some sun in someone’s backyard, just for the fun of it. And for a nice tan.
  • In the end, the time has come for us to leave and visit more extraordinary regions of our country or, why not, even other countries.
    Thank you for watching!
