1. DNA Fingerprinting by Dr. Belinda Roman<br />In this paragraph I will talk about DNA fingerprinting and the advantages of this modern technique. During the seminar, we learned how to obtain the DNA of a fingerprint. The speaker, Dr. Belinda Roman, created a hypothetical situation that was based on a Crime Scene and we had to investigate who was the criminal who committed the crime. First we replicated the DNA that was found in the epithelial cells of five suspects. We had a control group that was composed by the DNA found in the crime scene. Then after replicate the DNA through a process of incubation etc. We run a PCR with the samples. In the PCR, we could compare all the five subjects with the crime scene subjects. The application of this procedure is principally related to criminal justice. Because of this we can identify which person commits the crime.
