  • 1. AVID and Real Talk ATL (Future Foundation) Topic: Lunch and Learn at Benjamin E. Mays High School Sponsored by: AVID and Real Talk ATL (Future Foundation) Contacts: Cheryl Darville (AVID @ Mays); Oshea Hill [ohill@future-foundation.com] When: We are looking at the last week of January and exploring monthly lunch and learn activities. Where: School Cafeteria Why: Lunch-N-Learn are informal dialogues with students in the cafeteria during the school’s lunch periods. The goal is to educate students and meet them where they are o topics such as; communication, dating, the meaning of love, the importance of setting goals, respect for themselves, sexual refusal skills, family dynamics, short/long term skills needed to have a successful relationship…an abbreviation of our program in 20 to 30 minutes. The team will set up a display table, talk with AVID students @ the display table and circulate throughout the cafeteria educating students about our RealTalk ATL program. We will giveaway program materials (i.e. pamphlets, posters, pens, key chains, bracelets etc). We would also like to do a mini-presentation, if there is enough time, on our sexual exposure chart. Celebrating Valentine’s Day Responsibly February 13th is the Red Event from 6 pm-9 pm @ the Atlanta Airport Westin Hotel (4736 Best Road, Atlanta, GA 30337.
