9. Why this topic is so important
One of the few reasons why we have picked this topic is because our
group is interested in the online medium and how it was greatly affected
the ways in which we watch television. We're looking at this from an
Australian context because we feel that Australia has gone through a
massive shift from traditional television to online viewing in recent times.
With the great leaps that technology has made over the last decade, we
feel that it's important to understand these technologies and why there is
a shift in television and media consumption to better understand and
engage with audiences using multiple platforms. As we are future media
professionals, we feel that it is better to know how the industry is
changing so we can adapt to it.
