Continuing Education program available for your organization. The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to explain particular communication challenges that occur when interacting with the dementia patient. This program discusses functional strategies to use during skilled intervention and provides best practices for intervention in order to support the cognitively impaired adult. The following content will be covered during this session: 1. Understanding of diagnosis, medication treatment and nursing management. 2. Learn behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia. 3. Learn non-verbal signs of communication techniques to communicate with the person living with dementia. 4. Learn to decrease risk for aggression, best practices on approach, communication techniques for the dementia patient.
