  2. 2. <ul><li>He was born on 15 april 1800 in Dundalk, Ireland. </li></ul><ul><li>He died on April 3, 1862 in Aylesbury. </li></ul>His Life
  3. 3. <ul><li>He was a British explorer and naval officer who went on missions to both the Arctic and the continent of Antarctica, doing magnetic surveys. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>In 1842 , he tried to go to the South, and carried out the exploration of the East side of the island call James Ross and discovered and gave name to the Hill Islands Nevado and Marambio. </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>On 4 September 1843 he returned to England, being knighted a year later and nominated for the Legion d'honneur French. In 1847 he published his book about the expedition “ A title Voyage of Discovery and Research to Southern and Antarctic Regions “ . </li></ul><ul><li>He was elected member of the Royal Society in 1848, and in that year he made his last expedition to the Arctic. </li></ul>
