• Augmented Reality combines real and virtual is interactive in real time is registered in 3D Wikitude World Browser application displays information about users' surroundings in a mobile camera view. The application calculates users' current positions by using the Global Positioning System (GPS), a compass , and an accelerometer and accesses the Wikitude data set to provide geographic information (e.g. longitude and latitude ), history, and contact details of points of interest . Wikitude World Browser overlays the virtual 3-dimensional (3D) image and its information on real-time view. Virtual Reality Virtual reality ( VR ) is a term that applies to computer-simulated environments that can simulate places in the real world, as well as in imaginary worlds. Most current virtual reality environments are primarily visual experiences, displayed either on a computer screen or through special stereoscopic displays , but some simulations include additional sensory information, such as sound through speakers or headphones Cloud Computing Cloud computing is Web -based processing , whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices (such as smartphones ) on demand over the Internet This frequently takes the form of web-based tools or applications that users can access and use through a web browser as if it were a program installed locally on their own computer. Collaborative environments Synchronous – real time Adobe Connect Edmodo Ipods/ipads Canterbury Girls High School – ipods in the music classroom Matthew Townson HS – trial of ipads
• - One-to-one laptop programs have been found to bring about improvements to student learning outcomes - Improvements in student achievement are related to the way the laptops are used - Professional learning is essential for successful integration - Teacher pedagogical beliefs largely determine the degree and type of integration that occurs in the classroom - Professional learning must include processes by which teachers regularly discuss their pedagogical and educational values - Teachers need time for discussion and the sharing of ideas/resources - Leadership is crucial for successful integration - School leaders must build a shared vision, keep the focus on that vision, lead the planning, foster a collaborative and supportive school culture, provide time for collaboration and discussion and provide appropriate and timely professional learning for teachers - Distributed leadership and a whole school approach are most effective
