Real Estate Career:
Real estate Executive and Managers play a very significant role in the lives of many people. They are the connecting Executive between an individual and their dreams of home ownership. Real estate Executive are the people who help these individuals find the “perfect” home and realize their dream. On the flip side, real estate Executive are also the people who help someone sell their home when they are ready to move on with their lives.
Real estate Executive perform many services to help their clients buy or sell their home. For those who are about to sell their home, an executive will often:
o Conduct a price comparison of other similar area properties to gain insight on how to price the home
o Conduct a walk-through of the home and take pictures for promotional materials
o Interview the seller and work with them on how to sell the home quickly
o Work within their office to generate interest in the property
o Conduct open-house events and other promotional events to move the property
When working with a buyer the executive will perform many, if not all of the following duties:
o Interview buyer to gain knowledge of the type of home they wish to purchase
o Encourage them to get pre-approved for a mortgage so that they know what type of price range to search for homes in
o Show buyer homes at their convenience. This often means working weekends and evenings
o Prepare offers, contracts for sale and in some cases, closing documents.
Real Estate Work Environment
A majority of real estate Executive work in the residential sales field. This usually results in the Executive working for private Managers in their local area. Some real estate Executive sell commercial properties, but large firms handle most commercial transactions.
A typical real estate executive will work 40 or more hours a week. This is because most people looking to sell a home come in during regular business hours,
