  2. 3. What is the Pre-Salt ? <ul><li>Huge fields of oil and natural gas found in shalow, deep and ultra-deep waters. </li></ul><ul><li>In some place the pre-salt layer can be found from 5.000 to 7.000 meters below the bottom of the sea + 2.000 meters deep. </li></ul>
  3. 4. Challenges <ul><li>Technology: high pressures, high risk of pipes obstruction, massive volume of CO2 ate the resevoir, high concentration of CO2 makes pipes rust faster. </li></ul><ul><li>Logistics: Supply chain, transportation, workers. </li></ul>
  4. 5. <ul><li>Today Brazil is self sufficient with a 2 MI b/d; </li></ul><ul><li>With pre-salt Brazil will produce 8 MI b/d; </li></ul><ul><li>May of last year Swiss Bank UBS estimated that pre-salt O&G exploration will need US$ 600 BI in 30 years ; </li></ul><ul><li>Brazil sign an agreement with China and last month – during Obama’s visit – sign with US to sell the excedent of production; </li></ul><ul><li>Brazil will keep the Energy resources clean. </li></ul>Goals

  7. 8. What we should look at The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea rule the case Saint Vincent and Grenadines vs. Guinea (Saiga Case) with consequences to Brazil and also to African pre-salt explorations.
  8. 9. <ul><li>In 2015 half of the production units (platforms and FPSO) of the world will be in Brazil; </li></ul><ul><li>Brazilian production just in the pre-salt area will cost US$ 40 MI per day for PETROBRAS; </li></ul><ul><li>Safe zone drilling: no war, conflicts and a well established Democracy. Brazil will gone play a important role in O&G market; </li></ul><ul><li>There is a lot of direct investments from Brazil in Africa; </li></ul><ul><li>Natural Gas will incrise your share in Energy resources and market. </li></ul>What’s next?
