  • 2. How earthquakes are produced….
    • Earthquakes are produced between 0-70 km deep below/ above the ground.
  • 3. How earthquakes are caused….
    • Earthquakes are caused by the shaking of the earths surface caused by fast movement of the rocky outer layer of the earth (crust)
  • 4. Tectonic earthquakes
    • Tectonic earthquakes are caused when energy is released within the rock along a fault. Earthquakes can flip over bridges, modern buildings, & sky scrapers. It can also split open roads and houses.

    • Moon quakes do happen very rare. You don’t really see them because they mostly happen on earth.

    • The words Deepest earthquakes usually occur at plate boundaries where the earths crust is being subducted into the earths mantle as deep as 400 miles.
  • 7. Sanfransico earthquake
    • The Sanfransico earthquake happens at 5:12 am at April 18 1906. The length. The earthquake was 296 miles long and lasted 45-60 seconds. It was so strong that you could feel it in Oregon! Here is an example of what the earthquake was like:

    • The Alaskan earthquake happened in 1906. that earthquake happens once every year unlike the Kobe, Japan earthquake that happens about 20 times a year.

    • Seismographs are used to study earthquakes. They are used to study the highest of movements in the earth seismologist do that. The first seismoscope was mad in 1751 and not until 1855 as a source of earthquakes.
  • 11. Damages that earthquakes can cause
    • Some people lost there lives about 500 years people had been getting killed by earthquakes about over 240,000 in 1976 in Tang-Shan. One thing that really makes us sad is that you can pay for structure but you can never pay for family members lost lives.
