    2. Soy Wax Candle: Starting A New Hobby At Home Candle making can be a very enjoyable hobby. If you are one of those people who want to start a now hobby, try candle making. No, making candles is not difficult or and candle making wax is not expensive. There are plenty of cheap materials that you can use to make your own scented candles like soy wax, paraffin, beeswax and the likes. Soy wax in particular is easy to use and is very affordable. You can buy soy wax for candles in blocks or in flakes. To turn your soy wax into candles, here are some easy steps for you.
    3. Melting The Wax Like any other types of wax, soy wax can be melted by exposing it to direct heat. To melt your wax, use a wax melting pot or a hotplate. If you already have equipments for melting paraffin wax, there is no need for you to get another set of equipments to melt your soy wax for candle making.
    4. Too much heat can ruin your wax To get the best results, you need to use the right temperature to melt your soy wax. Unlike gel or paraffin, soy wax does not need a lot of heat to melt. The idea temperature for melting soy wax for candles is between 130 and 135 degrees Fahrenheit. Be careful not to expose your wax to more than 135 degrees Fahrenheit. Too much heat can ruin your wax.
    5. Applying Dye To make your soy wax candle look good, you may add some coloring or dye. You may use the same dyes that you have been using in making paraffin wax candles. Oil base liquid dyes as well as powder dyes are good for soy wax candle making. To add color to your soy wax candle, mix the dye or coloring agent by blinding a small blending batch of well melted soy wax. Stir the dye carefully into the small blending batch mixture before mixing it with the bigger batch. This way you will have better control over the consistency of the colors.
    6. Creating Your Candles If you want to create some unique soy wax candles, you need to use the right molds. Some specialty shops sell personalized candle molds so if you are interested to create personalized soy wax candles, go to your favorite specialty shop and order your own unique candle mold.
    7. Too Much Heat Can Ruin Your Wax Yes, you will probably pay a few extra dollars to get a personalized mold but the good news is that you can use the mold over and over again so you still get the most out of your money. On the other hand, if you are good at carving things, consider carving your own candle design.
