What is asked?<br />How many screws a screw machine can produce in one hour?<br />2. What are given?<br />Screw machine can produce 95 screws in a minute.<br />3. What operation to be used?<br />Multiplication<br />Solution:<br />60 minutes = 1 hour<br />95 crews x 60 minutes = n<br />Therefore, the screw machine can produce 5 700 crews in one hour.N = 5 700 screws.<br />Here is another example, <br />A department store bought 32 crates of portable radios. Each crate contains 50 radios. How many portable radios does the store have?<br />1. What is asked?<br />How many portable radios does the store have?<br />2. What are given?<br />50 portable radios in 1 crate and 32 crates<br />3.
