  • ENTREPRENEURS SEEK CHANGE AND EMBRACE IT AS OPPORTUNITY The UIE – United International Entrepreneurs Group Members: Cami, Omar, Fede, Abdallah, Jane, MichMich
  • THE QUOTE“Entrepreneurs see change as the normand as healthy. Usually, they do not bring about the change themselves. But the entrepreneur always searches for change, responds to it and exploits it as an opportunity” – Peter Drucker
  • THE MAN Drucker was born on the 19th of November 1909 in a small village called Kaasgraben in Vienna Austria. After WWI and the defeat of Austria-Hungry he moved to Germany to work and study there. He worked as a journalist and a banker Drucker earned his doctorate in Public and International law at Frankfurt university in Germany.
  • THE MAN The rise of Hitler and the Nazism forced Drucker to move to London in 1933. Four years later Drucker left London heading to the US to become a freelance writer and university professor. Drucker earned the US citizenship in 1943 In 1945 Druckers joined the General Motor’s management team.
  • THE MAN During his work at GM, Drucker developed several new ideas in management and authority and the concept of corporation. This concept helped to the division of labour. In 1975 Drucker began working as an editorial Columnist for the Wall Street Journal and contributed to prestigious magazines such as: Harvard Business review, The Economist and the Atlantic monthly. Drucker died from natural causes on the 11th of November 2005 in California.
  • WHAT DOES IT MEAN?Acronym: C = Convert; Challenge, but also Opportunity H = Healthy; Happens; Helps; Hopeful A = Ambition; Adventure; Action N = New; Not Negative ;) G = Great; Growth E = Enterprising; Energising; Exciting
  • WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Entrepreneurs (AT)  are the reason that the world is evolving  constantly looking for new ideas and opportunities  look for revolving issue or opportunity to find this change As a future Entrepreneur, this quote means a lot to me (CT)  we must embrace change: challenge & opportunity  we must let it happen on its own (– we will see more about this in slide 7) Change is the sustainability of life, and thus businesses (FM)
  • WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Entrepreneurs see the change as the key of success to their business that’s why they see change as healthy and as the norm  Change is a crucial criteria to the success of my business (OT) It happens every day, every moment, everywhere.  learn to embrace and honor it,  Companions: Fear and Uncertainty. Change is inevitable.  How we respond Openness and Gratitude (JO) Visionaries, know how to use innovations and change  world goes forward  “the world is our oyster” (MM)
  • CHANGE = RISK = OPPORTUNITY Change means “risk” as it can also mean “opportunity” Entrepreneurs can fear change as it can be a risk And as risk is related to uncertainty, one can relate change to the unknown Risk takers accept that the worst they can lose is 100% A risk taker was born a risk taker; they have an evident confidence from childhood And as change also means opportunity, you risk to get the opportunity!
  • ORGANISE WITH CHAOS Change is a process, and goes through several steps:  Enhance – something happens in the environment, the old ways of doing things stop working. Pressure for change is felt  Perturb – existing routines fail, resulting in stress, bringing on spontaneous turbulence and release of diversity  Attract – fresh diversity emerges, new people, projects and performance levels begin to develop  Excite – synergy and symbiosis occur, which generate profitability
  • WHAT IS CHANGE? Change is something that pushes us out of our comfort zone It is a Theory, it provides a roadmap to get you from here to there It is a constant, because the world is ever changing It is an action, doing things instead of leaving them be
