Desert Hot Springs Spa
23 Guest Suites + Spa + Gardens
Situated in a wash, an artificial channel redirects
and concentrates infrequent but violent rainfall into a
safe and continually changing environment.
The entire design is oriented to give a sweeping
view of the Coachella Valley below and Mt. San
Jacinto across from Desert Hot Springs. The formal
qualitites are derived from the geometry of the
wash, which are then dissolved, as from a hard rain,
and the guest quarters are cut and lifted.
