[Student Work] Desert Hot Springs Spa 23 Guest Suites + Spa + Gardens Situated in a wash, an artificial channel redirects and concentrates infrequent but violent rainfall into a safe and continually changing environment. The entire design is oriented to give a sweeping view of the Coachella Valley below and Mt. San Jacinto across from Desert Hot Springs. The formal qualitites are derived from the geometry of the wash, which are then dissolved, as from a hard rain, and the guest quarters are cut and lifted.
