Whose Behind the Declaration of Independence? <ul><li>Written By Thomas Jefferson, The Declaration Of Independence was issued July 4 th , 1776. </li></ul><ul><li>Jefferson was born in Albemarle County, Virginia in 1743. </li></ul><ul><li>He was influenced by George Manson’s “Virginia Declaration of Rights” </li></ul><ul><li>He was A strong political figure and served in two terms of Presidency </li></ul>
  3. 3. Well what about the Pursuit of Happiness? <ul><li>The Pursuit of Happiness originated from the works of John Locke. </li></ul><ul><li>The Pursuit of Happiness means that you can chase your dreams, and live the life you choose as long as what you do falls within the law. the Law. </li></ul>
  4. 4. My Pursuit if Happiness <ul><li>My Pursuit of Happiness is Skateboarding. </li></ul><ul><li>It’s my dream to one day be a professional Skater. </li></ul><ul><li>When I see all the big name skaters on T.V., it makes me want to be like them so I can influence kids to do great things. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Calvine High School <ul><li>The Teachers are really nice and always willing to help. </li></ul><ul><li>I can stay focused all day. </li></ul><ul><li>All the students get along and make it a positive learning environment </li></ul><ul><li>And the foods Great! </li></ul>
  6. 6. What I like to do. <ul><li>Skateboarding is my favorite thing to do </li></ul><ul><li>After all my schoolwork is done, its always fun to go outside and skate for a while </li></ul><ul><li>I skateboard for a couple hours every day and I’m always trying new tricks to better myself. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Self Qualities <ul><li>I can always make someone laugh </li></ul><ul><li>I always go the extra mile to fulfill my obligations as a student </li></ul><ul><li>I am great at receiving, and memorizing important information. </li></ul>
  8. 8. If I ran for President? <ul><li>I would try my hardest to work toward getting out of debt </li></ul><ul><li>I would find a way to educate anyone and everyone </li></ul><ul><li>I would take the dreams of all the past Presidents and make them reality </li></ul>
  9. 9. Responsibilities as a Citizen <ul><li>I feel that as citizens, it is our duty to make sure our neighborhoods are safe, not only for ourselves, but for others in our community. </li></ul><ul><li>I also feel that we can all work together to make our communities a better place to live in by helping out one another. </li></ul>
  10. 10. My most Important right <ul><li>To me, the most important right is the freedom of speech </li></ul><ul><li>You can say what you please and not have to worry about being punished for it </li></ul><ul><li>If it wasn’t for this right I think there would be some sort of revolution in America </li></ul>
  11. 11. What can we do to make the world a better place… <ul><li>We can clean up our neighborhoods, it can be as simple as picking up some garbage and disposing of it properly </li></ul><ul><li>We can be more friendly with our neighbors </li></ul><ul><li>We can try to eliminate violence </li></ul><ul><li>We can start riding bikes instead of driving cars to save the ozone layer </li></ul>
  12. 12. Where I see myself in 5 years <ul><li>When I get older, I want to get into science subjects in college because one day I want to be a Chemist. I need to study science text books and get a college Degree in sciences to work toward my dream. I still want to skateboard, but I need a career to back me up, because I’m not always going to be able to skateboard so I need a back up plan just in case. </li></ul>
