The genre of the film is a comedy/horror. And the length of the trailer will be about 1min to 1min 30sec.
The film is very similar to a film the Kevin smith may direct. The comedy and the cinematography is very similar to his film.
The film is also very similar to the films like Zombieland and Shaun of the dead.
Zombieland and Shaun of the dead
Making fun out of the way people are killed.
Comical portrayal of zombies.
Humorous decisions that the character make.
The film would be given a 15 rating due to the language, violence and sex/drug references. The audience would be the type of people that like the films of Kevin smith this is because is has a lot of blunt rude humour which are present in most of not all of his films. The audience are the type of people that will only go to the cinema if they have the money and if they can afford to have the cash to dispose of. They are more likely to rent or buy the film. To target the film I would use social networks as the audience are the people who are most likely to be using these sites. The audience will be mostly males however females would also find enjoyment in this movie as the female character in this movie is very head strong and powerful female and is the strongest and most intelligent character in the entire film.
The trailer would be put on to the official website of the film. Also the trailer would be put onto various different websites like imdb and youtube. There would also be posters put up around the cinemas where the film would be shown like art house cinemas such as ‘The phoenix’ in London. We would also rely a lot on word of mouth to promote the film.
The trailer would be shown on television however only on channels like e4 and films 4. film 4 may even play the making off feature to help people see the film and get a better understanding of what happens.
Why the rating?
The BBFC permits the following within the boundaries of a 15 certificate:
Language: Frequent use of strong language, the strongest terms are rarely acceptable. Continued use of the strongest language and sexual abuse is unacceptable.
Theme: no theme is prohibited, providing it is suitable for persons over the age of 15
Nudity: there are no constrains of nudity in a non-sexual form or in educational content.
Sex: sexual activity may be portrayed but without strong detail however there maybe strong verbal references to sexual activity.
Violence: violence maybe be strong but not focus of the inflection of pain and on injures. Scene of sexual violence must be discrete and brief.
Imitable techniques: dangerous combat techniques like ear claps, head-butts and blows to the neck are unlikely to be acceptable. There maybe no emphasis on the use of easily accessible lethal weapons such as knives.
Drugs: drugs maybe used by clear instructive detail is unacceptable. The film as a whole must not promote or encourage the use of drugs.
Where they would see the trailer
There are many different places where film trailers are shown. However as this film would be a very low budget production there would not be enough money to promote the trailer all over the television. One area one the TV that the film could be promoted would be, Film 4. this channel do a lot of promotion for low budget film by doing hour long specials which include interviews with the cast and crew, the making of film and the trailer.
When the film comes out on DVD the film would be promoted at Blockbuster, as they constantly show trailers for all the films that are coming out and one that have come out that week, also they have the posters of the movies around the store so that the costumers can see what has come out. The audience could also see the trailer on LoveFilm.com, this is a internet based company that rent out films and on this website you can view the trailers for the films.
However saying that, the most likely place where the trailer for this film will be shown would be and art house cinema like the Phoenix in London.
The camera style is typical to a horror film, using extreme close ups and very fast edits along side extreme longs shots to suggest emptiness.
At the start of the trailer I will be suggesting a horror film by having heavy breathing, fast quick cuts and ominous music.
There will be a glass shattering scream to suggest terror and pain. Then when the dialogue kicks in the audience will discover that the film is a comedy.
Mise en scene
Kev: t-shirt (white) and jeans
Jake: shirt (black) and jeans
Hannah: t-shirt (bright coloured) and jeans
Zombies: torn dirty clothes with bloody stains and very pale make-up, with bad rotting skin.
Some of the trailer will be filmed at Epping Forest. I chose this area because it is a large enclosed place, and the way that the trees are placed make the sunlight come though in layers creating interesting lighting styles.
In door locations
A typical terrace house. This is the place where the three teenagers live by themselves.
The room that will be used will be the living room, kitchen, and one bed room.
The film follows that story of three teenagers and their fight to stay alive in a zombie infested world. They decided to leave and find a cure so that they can travel safely around the country trying to fined people that are not infected.
The trailer will start to make the film look like a horror then after the scream the trailer will show the comedy side of the film by having some of the jokes and comical events that occur throughout the movie appear.
The pase of the trailer will change quite a lot. At the start it will be very slow to build suspense and then the pase will quicken using very quick cuts and fast music. The voice over that will be used would be to help tell the story and give the audience clues about the characters and their personalities.
As I am working on a solo project I will be doing a lot of the work. By doing a film trailer I am using different actors and putting confidence in them to perform the way that is required of my film, this is so that they have the same dedication and drive that I do so that my finial product would be what I am aiming for.
Jake- Ben Rutter
Zombie #1-Joanna Wingrove

Characters to cast
Jake- the leader of the three teenagers and the one that makes all of the main important decision for the group.
Hannah- the girl that keeps the three teenagers together and helps Jake out with finding the cure.
Kev- the black sheep of their ‘family’. He drinks and does drugs and don’t care for anyone lives and barley looks after himself.
The unique selling point of my film is the comedy. There is a lot of jokes throughout the trailer. It tell the audience that this film will be every funny and entertaining but will also have elements of horror about it. this is used through voice over which will help sell the film as the audience will be able to hear what the characters are like and get more of a clue to what the film will be about.
