South Texas Community College 2003 - 2005 Math Adjunct Instructor • Ensured the success of repeat students in a Math 80, 85, and 90 level • Executed a successful plan to ensure student’s achievement when taking the THEA exam. • Attended Staff Development meetings to equip students with technological resources useful for mathematics. University of Texas-Pan American 2001/2002 Undergraduate Math Peer Mentor • Peer mentored students that visit the UTPA Mathematics Laboratory • Covered subjects from College Algebra to Real Analysis, Business Calculus, Quantitative Methods, and some Physics. • Participated in giving short presentations to several math courses promoting the UTPA Math Lab. • Assisted in giving student surveys/questionnaires to students. • Instructed small groups that came for group tutoring. University of Texas-Pan American 2001/2002 Researcher • Involved in a one year research program for minority students (Louis Stokes Alliance for Minorities Research program), which ended in June 2001. • Utilized collected raw data to perform a statistical analysis of the UTPA Math Lab’s effectiveness. • Constructed histograms to be used in PowerPoint presentations for the South Texas Mathematics Colloquium in Brownsville, Houston, and Edinburg.
