  • 2. Methodologythe polling company, inc. on behalf of Jobvite conducted a nationwide online omnibus survey of 2,108 adults,of which 1,266 adults (aged 18+) were part of the American workforce. Fielded September 5-7, 2012, the surveyincluded questions on current employment status, the use of social networks to find job opportunities and attitudesabout the current employment market.Of the 1,266 members of the workforce, 948 were “job seekers,” and 86% also had at least one social networkprofile. 318 were currently employed but NOT open to a new job.Respondents for this survey were selected from an opt-in panel, and had expressed prior consent to participatein online surveys such as this. Data were weighted so the demographics of this audience closely match thenationwide population of adults (age 18+) with respect to gender, age, and region.DefinitionsWorkforce: All participants in the labor market: currently employed + unemployed and lookingJob Seeker: All those actively seeking work or open to a new job, both currently employed and unemployed /2/
