      • Create Schools to house computers for students
      • Coaches to motivate students to keep pace and create individual plans

      • Amend legislation to allow these type of schools to contract directly with Michigan Virtual High School
    7. THE REVISED SCHOOL CODE (EXCERPT) Act 451 of 1976
      • 380.1481 Michigan virtual university; goals; course offerings; duties; participation; funding; technical assistance.
      • Sec. 1481.
      • (2) The Michigan virtual high school shall have the following goals:
      • (f) Grant high school diplomas through a dual enrollment method with school districts and/ or directly utilizing non profits who operate computer centers serving previously homeschooled, dropouts or juvenile delinquents.
    8. THE REVISED SCHOOL CODE (EXCERPT) Act 451 of 1976 (6) The Michigan virtual university shall fund the Michigan virtual high school from appropriations made for this purpose and may also use funds received from other sources. Michigan Virtual High School is recognized as a fully functioning school able to qualify for the state foundational allowance and other federal funds for students attending class at Michigan Virtual High School approved non profit computer centers. The department shall provide technical assistance as requested by the Michigan virtual university for the purposes of this section. History: Add. 2000, Act 230, Imd. Eff.
