    2. Human Evolution
      • Paleoanthropologist- The modern study of evolution
      • Started in Pangaea
      • Started about 5-2 million years ago
    3. Connections to our Ancestors
      • Our ancestors are primates
      • 98% of genes are identical in humans and chimps
      • Connections
    4. What Early Human Ancestors are there?
      • Hominidae- Are one of our closet relatives
      • Australopithecus- Latin“Southern Ape”
      • Homo-erectus- Latin “upright man”
    5. Hominidae
      • Examples of Hominidae are Orangutans, Gorillas, Chimpanzee, Bonobo and Humans
      • This family is said to separate approximately 5 million years ago
    6. Homo Sapiens
      • Are actually a human
      • Are not extinct
      • Paleoanthropologists argue that homo sapiens come from different ancestors
    7. Homo Neanderthalensis
      • As we get closer to the twenty first century our ancestors get more and more like us
    8. Australopithecus
      • Extinct group of animals
      • A bore with a combination
      • of a Human and ape-like
      • qualities
      • Fossils found in East, Central and South Africa

      • Extinct group of animals
      • Originated from Africa
      • and/or Eurasia

      • 600,000 to 8,500 years ago
      • Basic Tools
      • Men gathered food
    12. Mesolithic Period
      • 8,000 to 6,500 years ago
      • Advanced Tools
      • Hunters from this period were better in this time period then the Paleolithic period.
    13. Neolithic Period
      • 6,500 to 2,000 years ago
      • Villages and different techniques were established.
      • Time period marked from stone tools to metal tools.
