    Anatomy & Physiology Block4 - Presentation Transcript

    1. Anatomy & Physiology Evolution
      • Anatomy is the study of the human structure of the human body and the relationships between parts.
    2. Homologous
      • Homologous structure develop from similar embryonic substances and have similar basic structure developmental patterns
    3. Hemoglobin
      • Is another similarity to homologous for the different molecules in different vertebrate species that contain similar sequences of amino acids.
    4. Comparing Human arms to Bat arms.
      • Although outwardly they look different, human arms are similar to those of bats internal structure.
      • The bones of each can be compared to each other, showing that they had common ancestors.
    5. Comparative Anatomy
      • This is the study of how different organisms adapt the their environments and shows how they have changed over a long period of time.
    6. Amino Acids
      • All living organisms have the base amino acids in their structures
      • These bases are acidic carboxyl group (-COOH), acidic carboxyl group (-COOH)
    7. Behavioral similarities
      • We share a lot in common with other living organisms but one of the most clear similarities is our social interaction.
      • Many animals often are paired together in groups much like humans.
      • Animals also feed their young, build shelters and become of protective of their territories.
    8.
    9. Humans evolved from Apes?
      • We don’t know where certain traits come from but scientists say that bipedalism is the reason for the evolutionary departure from the ape tribe.
      • It says that the first humans had very similar body types to apes.
    10. Human and Chimpanzee’s jaw similarities
      • Humans have an arc shaped jaw with molars that are not parallel.
      • They have no space between incisors and canines.
      • Chimpanzee’s have a U-shaped jaw with molars arranged in two parallel rows.
      • Space between incisors and canines and long canines.
    11. These are pictures of a chimpanzee skull and jaw and a human skull and jaw
    12.
    13. Conculsion
      • So in this project we all agree that many animals and humans have various traits that are alike. Ranging from behavior to actual genetic similarities, but there are also differences such as their physical appearance
