YR 11 ENGLISH 20 11 – Unit 1 <ul><li>Outcome 1 - Reading & Responding </li></ul><ul><li>(Text Response – Analysis and Essay Writing ) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>TEXT: ‘Night’ by Elie Wiesel - Term 1 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>ASSESSMENT: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>A t ext r esponse e ssay SAC on the text (100 mins and 600-800 words ) . </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>An oral presentation SAC (3-5 minutes) on an aspect of the Holocaust. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>O ther set class work (i.e. chapter questions or practice tasks) for an ‘ S ’ – meaning, satisfactory completion of the Outcome . </li></ul></ul></ul>

These will be either one extended piece of writing or 3 shorter pieces. They will comprise: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>A Text response Essay </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>A Context Piece </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Language Analysis </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>You will be given 15 minutes reading time and 2 hours of writing time for each exam. </li></ul></ul>
