Abstract: In this paper, a basis function learning control is developed in away parallel to time domain learning control. Basis function approach aims to reduce the dimension and computation of learning gain matrices while maintaining minimal loss of tracking precision. Here, we transplant two learning gain matrices, the transpose and the partial isometry, from rime domain learning control into basis function learning control. These two learning gain matrices have no ill-conditioned problems in matrix computation and ensure a monotonic decay of tracking error. The basis vector of discrete cosine transform (DCT) is chosen as basis function for its high energy compression ratio and energy preservation feature. Experiments on two joints of a SCARA type robot verify the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. A few DCT coefficients may meet learning control specification and tracking precision can be improved by increasing the number of the DCT coefficients. © 2005 IEEE. (16 refs.) This paper described the elementary requirement and the essential technology for public health information visualization and proposed a framework of the unified public health information visualization platform based on the Web GIS and visualization technology. The system framework adopted multi-tier system infrastructure that consist the sever tier and the front tier. In the server tier, the J2EE based architecture was adopted to construct a distrusted system infrastructure. In the front tier, the GIS map java applet is used to show the public health information with spatial graphical map, and the web based graphics figures such as curves, bars, maps and multi-dimensional visualization technology are used to visualize the public health information. The public health information contained the geo-referenced data, such as specific location, area code, latitude and longitude, street address, and geopolitical boundaries can be visualized with GIS distribution maps. The system infrastructure, functions, system integration, and some key technology were discussed in this paper. An infrared image synthesis model for moving object is presented which considers various environmental factor, object surface geometry, structure, intrinsic thermal properties, internal heat conditions and aerodynamic heating due to its high-speed moving. Then the rendering method for infrared image is proposed and the parameter is designed meticulously in order to improve veracity and simplify processes. By incorporating the attenuation effect of atmosphere and the noise mechanism of infrared image sensor, the infrared images of the moving object in the scene from different viewpoint are generated. And develop approximate expression of the change in the value of FX options into Delta-Gamma-Theta model. Then we use Monte Carlo approach and Cornish-Fisher approach to compute VaR value of portfolio of FX options. Moreover, we find the gained VaR value using Cornish-Fisher approach is near to the gained VaR value using Monte Carlo approach, and the Delta-Gamma-Theta Model using the two approaches is evidently better than the Delta-Normal model. But few people carry out the researches on how to create decision-making program. Combining extension engineering and goal-programming model, a method for constructing an extendable goal-programming model that can create programs by different perspectives was put forward. Then taking Xi county of Shanxi Province as an example, the method was applied in the extendable programming model for land resources allocation. The result shows that the method for land resources allocation based on the extendable goal-programming model performs rather well by changing objects, conditions and decision variables. (7 refs.) Basically our approach is based on the matrix-norms of sub-images. Compared with the SVD based algorithms, the new algorithm is quite simple and can be easily implemented with a lower computational cost. We give various numerical experiments for the new algorithm with different kinds of norms. The experimental results with three kinds of norms reported in this paper show that this algorithm has a good transparence of the embedded watermark image and is robust to attacks such as re- sampling, smoothing, noise adding, and JPEG-compression.
