  • 1. Paragraphs and Formatting
  • 2. Paragraphs
    • A web browser will ignore all of the CARRIAGE RETURNS typed into your text editor.
    • However, when the browser sees the paragraph tag, it inserts a blank line and starts a new paragraph.
  • 3. Tags
    • Paragraph Tag
      • <p></p>
    • Heading tags have a built in break so it is unnecessary to put <P> tag before a header tag.
  • 4. Other Types of Breaks
    • To separate major sections of a web page, use the horizontal rule tag. This inserts a straight line.
    • Tag: <hr> (NOTE: You do not need to end this tag)
  • 5. Types of Horizontal Rules
    • <hr>
    • <hr color= >
    • <hr color = size = >
    • <hr size= noshade>
  • 6. Line Break Tag
    • Place <br> at the end of a line
    • This tag does not have an ending tag
