Are schools understanding everything that they are blocking form the students?<br />
Some of these blocked sites can be used for engaged learn for their pupils. <br />
Why block something that will make your students excited about the lesson?<br />
Teachers want their students to be engaged/excited for their lessons.<br />
These kids are.<br />
So just let them get excited about learning. Unblock the social networks!<br />
Redefine what it means to have engaged learning.<br />
But do using these social networks like Skype really work for class lessons? <br />
Just ask them.<br />
Yet most schools don’t understand this.<br />
Schools are blocking networks that they don’t even know what they can use them for.<br />
The web enables global collaboration, so why block it?<br />
Class lessons can be on debates , opinions, etc.<br />
Teachers can arrange debates with U.K. students on the American Revolution.<br />
Like these kids are doing. <br />
Using these blocked sites gives skills needed for future jobs!<br />
A fun way of finding out of what is going on in the outside world.<br />
School leaders should be questioning themselves on what is really happening.<br />
Information is flowing out of classroom instead of in.<br />
Social networking like Skype is the new age learning!<br />
So why are we blocking our future? !?<br />
