Collaboration is fundamental to success. Teams rely on real-time interaction to solve problems here and now. Increasing globalization is driving more collaboration, across more territories, in more ways.
Sometimes people just want to talk. But often they want more; to share data, pictures… Even emotions. For those times, video is key. They want the ability to collaborate, simply and reliably, irrespective of how they are connected, or what device they’re on.

  • 1. Data sheet You need to bring a bit of Eric Whitacre to your job — he’s the composer who assembled a virtual choir online to perform a moving production of Edward Esch’s ‘Lux Aurumque’. And with five million views, he’s proved that people can come together to produce stunning results, even when they’re not in the same room. Things are changing in organisations; they are made up of people who have differing expectations of their communications, and more than that, they are spread all over the globe. Our location shouldn’t hold us back from being able to join in and collaborate; collaboration should be something that happens at any time, on any device. These days, talking isn’t enough; your people want to be able to see each other, share documents and access the same information in real-time. And costs need to be reduced where they can, whether that’s reducing travel and accommodation or investing in the right IT, all decisions that need to be made while being conscious of constrained budgets. We understand that you need a network that can cope with this new wave of communications, providing top-of-the-range collaboration tools. You need to provide people with the technology they know and love with the new, exciting capabilities that the latest technology affords, and above all, you need the expertise to make this all work together perfectly, so that you can collaborate effectively and securely on a global scale. Working in harmony BT’s view: Collaboration is fundamental Collaboration is fundamental to success. Teams rely on real-time interaction to solve problems here and now. Increasing globalisation is driving more collaboration, across more territories, in more ways. Sometimes people just want to talk. But often they want more; to share data, pictures… Even emotions. For those times, video is key. They want the ability to collaborate — simply and reliably — irrespective of how they are connected, or what device they’re on. Effective deployment is difficult. It’s not just about weaving together diverse networks and collaboration tools. It’s about having the know-how to blend everything seamlessly: disparate technologies, the old with the new, all across different devices. With the right network and collaboration tools it’s possible to provide the kind of performance people expect — delivering a seamless, efficient experience.
  • 2. How we can help: Voices joined in harmony We appreciate that you need to transform the way you reach out to customers and the way you collaborate with colleagues, partners and suppliers. But to enable this, and ensure a seamless end user experience, you need an underlying network infrastructure that’s fit for purpose and optimised to deliver unified communications. BT brings everything together; we can unify your communications, power your networks and manage the security of your network, data and applications. There are countless variations of unified communications (UC) and we’ll help you discover which is right for you. Here’s how we can help: • We strive to really understand your needs — 76% of our customers say better communications make a big difference to success and 77% say UC would make employees more productive , while 62% want easier access to communications on the move . We understand your needs and with BT One we offer some of the best voice and collaboration solutions in the market, enabling people to work from anywhere — reducing costs, improving productivity and increasing agility. • We start by designing a transformation strategy to manage risk; we know how important it is for you to manage your data and make sure that it’s protected, around the clock. • We build a solution that’s right for you, offering both cloud and enterprise solutions (or even a hybrid of the two). We’ll determine exactly what you need and provide it in the most efficient way possible. • We make sure that the legacy technology you have can be smoothly integrated with new systems. This way you can make the most of your existing assets as well as benefiting from UC. And we provide complete end to end solutions: not just voice or unified communications, but networks and security all pulled together by BT Advise professional services. • We make it easy for you to implement your new UC-enabled network successfully and easily. During deployment, we make it our priority to keep business running as usual. And because UC expectations are high, we ensure the end user experience is excellent so that it’s easily adopted, delivering increased collaboration and productivity and lowering voice and travel expenses. • We know that the end user experience must be excellent to ensure adoption, and our BT Connect Applications portfolio can help enable this. It gives you the intelligence to manage your network, accelerate application performance and optimise the network to ensure voice and video calls perform exceptionally, without affecting business critical applications. The Connect Acceleration Monitoring (CAM) service allows you to track what’s running on your network, resolve IT performance problems faster, and lower IT management costs. Here’s proof: Making sweet music together We’ve got the experience and knowledge to get your people (and your organisation) performing anywhere. • We deliver communications as a service globally. BT provides services in more than 170 countries, supported by 30,000 people located in 50 countries • We’ve got the experience. We’ve deployed over 1 million IP phones globally and manage over 270,000 cloud voice and UC users • We’re leading a revolution. In partnership with Dolby; we offer the best quality audio conferencing solution with voice separation, noise reduction and HD quality • We lead on innovation. BT is the only company to offer cloud UC on a no-term commitment basis. Our One Voice anywhere solution offers significant savings of over 45% on international mobile and roaming costs • We have the expertise. We support your journey to UC – with a clear and simple roadmap and proven professional services • And we’re delivering this to our customers today and every day. Joining up communications for our customers Crystal clear video for Yazaki A market leader in components for the global automotive industry, Yazaki is based in Japan with a global workforce of 210,000. BT provided a complete upgrade for its legacy video conferencing systems. Now the company is free from the frustrating lag between lip movements and speech, which is especially important when conference participants are speaking in languages not native to them. Crystal clear video underpins Yazaki decisions across the globe from more than 20 sites, and since the upgrade savings of a third on business trip expenses have been reported. Accelerating decision-making for Philips With a bespoke BT One Collaborate solution, Philips was helped to achieve its vision for a state-of-the-art multifunctional boardroom, combining everything needed to integrate video conferencing and multimedia. The new video-enabled boardroom is enhancing insight into global operations, accelerating decision-making and eliminating unnecessary travel costs. Call charges reduced by 30% for TNT Express Benelux BT One Business Voice was chosen by TNT Express Benelux because of its ability to integrate data traffic and public telephony services. Seven key sites, including the two TNT Express contact centres, were migrated onto BT One Business Voice under a single contract. The move was completely transparent to end users: all work took place on the BT side of the network. Jan Denys, ICS infrastructure manager, says: “Once lower call charges of around 30% per annum were factored in, the financial benefits were very clear. The programme started to show a strong return on investment in less than 12 months.” 1. The workplace shift — Davies Hickman Partners on behalf of BT/Avaya research, January 2014 2. Connecting remote operations for Anglo American Helping Anglo American bring together remote operations in 15 countries across Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe, BT has deployed intelligent networking solutions from the BT Connect portfolio. BT Connect Applications at 65 locations around the world are maximising network performance and prioritising business critical applications. BT One Voice puts all Anglo American voice services onto a single platform to deliver substantial savings, simplify management and enable collaborative services. And through BT conferencing services at 130 sites, including fully- managed TelePresence at four locations, Anglo American is reaping the benefits of large scale collaboration and improved efficiency. Collaborative Anglo-Irish talks with PA Consulting When PA Consulting was awarded a contract to report on the potential for economic collaboration between the UK and Ireland, it was clear the process would involve key people around a table. Aware of the BT fully-managed video conferencing service, PA Consulting figured that they could meet the challenge of organising the high-level, cross-border talks quickly — and virtually, without any unnecessary business travel. Ryanair Chief Executive, Michael O’Leary, said: “The quality of the live-time debate and discussion was very impressive. It certainly was a very productive way of having a cross-border discussion.” A vision for change. Tools for the job. Expertise to help you make it real.
