The purpose of this study is to analyze the moisture, oiliness, elasticity and temperature (MOET) of fingers and whether these factors have significant affects on the quality of the fingerprint images looking at the following sensors: Upek Touch, Upek Swipe, UareU, Identix , Futronic, Crossmatch, Fujitsu, Authentic, and Atmel. Also analyzing the age in regards to the same factors and whether these factors have significant effects on quality of the fingerprint images. There were 187 subjects used in this study.

THE EFFECT OF MOET VALUES AND AGE ON IMAGE QUALITY The purpose of this study is to analyze the moisture, oiliness, elasticity and temperature (MOET) of fingers and whether these factors have significant affects on the quality of the fingerprint images looking at the following sensors: Upek Touch, Upek Swipe, UareU, Identix , Futronic, Crossmatch, Fujitsu, Authentic, and Atmel. Also analyzing the age in regards to the same factors and whether these factors have significant effects on quality of the fingerprint images. There were 187 subjects used in this study. Due to this we were unable to come to an accurate conclusion about the effects of age on the quality of images. Age of SubjectsMOET Values vs. Quality These graphs have a normal distribution and represent the moisture content of each individuals finger when using all nine sensors. This graph is slightly left skewed and represents the average temperature of each individuals finger when using each sensor. These graphs have a strong right skew and the factors represent how oily an individuals finger was while using each of the nine sensors. These graphs have a slight left skew and represent the elasticity of an individuals finger for each of the nine sensors. After researching and analyzing our data, we have come to a conclusion about moisture, oiliness, elasticity and temperature (MOET) and their values regarding image quality, all while looking at nine different sensors. To begin, a median moisture score has the majority of quality scores. Secondly, the lower the oiliness reading the higher the image quality. Thirdly, an elasticity score that is higher returns a better image quality. Lastly, temperature appeared to not have an affect on image quality. Also, due to the lack of participants in the age ranges of 36-50 and 51-65 we did not take much consideration of the affect it had on image quality.
