    • Christopher Sholes invented the typewriter in
    • 1866. Also the typewriter can still be used to day. In Sholes life he helped invent the telegraph and he was a printer when he was a little boy.

    • born Feb. 14 1819 and died on Feb. 17 1890. Christopher Sholes died at age 71.
  • 4.
    • Sholes invention was not easy to sell or make.
    • How it was better: you did not have to write in quill pen or by hand.
    • When the typewriter went on sale it cost about $12,000.
  • 5. Sale of the Typewriter
    • The typewriter went on sale in 1874.
    • Engineers gave the typewriter machine its market apparel and sales skyrocketed. When the typewriter went on sale it cost about $2,000.
