“The Capital of Capitalism”
ashes to ashes, dust to dust,
it all returns to “La Chureca.”
the wastes of a materialist society,
the place of the consumers of the consumed.
what does capitalism boil down to?
La Chureca.
create, sell, discard.
create, sell, discard.
create, sell, discard.
it is an endless, yet unsustainable cycle.
in its trap, the poorest of the poor are the victims.
from the unwanted they create,
they sell and they wait
for the fresh pickings of the day.
well fed mouths feed the deprived.
rotten fruits, left over meats
are decomposed by the dispossessed.
this human hell is the
Capitol of Capitalism.
policies are sorted,
profits are digested,
representatives gather
to salvage the pieces
to a broken puzzle
never meant to fit,
only meant to distract
while the wealthy profit.
