  3. 3. The Breadth of Computing • Probably part of everything we do e.g. cars, films, banking, games, etc • Ranges from: – the very technical e.g. the hardware in our computers – to the design and development of software e.g. mobile applications, games, etc
  4. 4. Our Courses • Focus on software development • Two modes of study are available: – 3 year – 4 year thick sandwich (placement) • Two main subject pathways – Computer Science – Business Computing
  5. 5. Computer Science • Oriented towards the technical formal principles of computing and software engineering • Candidates should have plenty of practice and experience in handling mathematical concepts
  6. 6. Business Computing • Focus on the analysis, design and implementation of computer systems, with business and commercial emphasis. • Suitable for good entry-level grades, not necessarily in Mathematics.
