  • Tuition Fees 2012/13• Fees can be set between £6,000 and £9,000 per year• Brunel will charge £9,000 for all UG full- time courses• £1,000 for placement year of sandwich course• £6,000 (£3,000 fee waiver) for Yr 4 of MEng and MMath courses• No upfront fee to pay
  • Student Loans 2012/13• Tuition Fee Loan – To cover the cost of your fees – Paid directly to the University• Living Cost Loan – To cover your day to day living costs – The amount you get is means tested on your parents/household income – Paid in three instalments in September, January and April into your bank account

  • How do I repay my Student Loans?• Through the tax system from April 2016• Only start repaying once you earn over £21,000 – £25,000 salary repay £30 per month – £35,000 salary repay £105 per month• Loan interest rates: – Whilst studying: RPI + 3% – Less than £21,000: RPI – £21,000 - £41,000: RPI + up to 3% – Over £41,000: RPI + 3%• The Government will write off any Student Loans that are left unpaid after 30 years
  • Maintenance Grant 2012/13• Helps with living costs such as food, accommodation and travel• Full grant of £3,250 per year if household income is up to £25,000• Partial grant of between £50 and £3,250 per year if household income is between £25,000 and £42,600

  • Brunel Financial Support 2012/13• Over 1,000 new scholarships for 2012• One in three applicants who join Brunel next year will receive financial support from the University.
  • Brunel Financial Support 2012/13• Academic Excellence Scholarships – Up to 150 students – £3,000 fee waiver – 3 A-levels grades AAA or above – IB 35 points or above – BTEC Extended Diploma D*D*D* – Make Brunel University Firm choice through UCAS – Complete scholarship application by 10 March
  • Brunel Financial Support 2012/13• Local Boroughs Scholarships – Up to 20 students per year (increasing to 30 students from 2013) – £6,000 per year package: £5,000 fee waiver and £1,000 taken either as: (a) an additional fee waiver or (b) discount on the cost of on-campus accommodation or (c) a cash award – 3 A-levels grades AAA or above – IB 35 points or above – BTEC Extended Diploma D*D*D* – Attend a partnership school/college – Make Brunel University Firm choice through UCAS – Complete scholarship application by 10 March – Under-represented groups
  • Brunel Financial Support 2012/13• Brunel Alumni Scholarships – Funded by Brunel alumni donations – Up to 5 students per year (those with highest UCAS tariff points who apply to the Local Borough Scholarships above) – £6,000 per year cash award – 3 A-levels grades AAA or above – IB 35 points or above – BTEC Extended Diploma D*D*D* – Attend a partnership school/college – Make Brunel University Firm choice through UCAS – Complete scholarship application by 10 March – Under-represented groups
  • Brunel Financial Support 2012/13• National Scholarship Programme (NSP) – 128 NSP students allocated to Brunel by the Government programme – Plus an additional 188 places that the University will offer – £3,000 package for Year 1 only: £2,000 fee waiver and £1,000 taken either as: (a) an additional fee waiver or (b) discount on the cost of on-campus accommodation or (c) a cash award – Make Brunel University Firm choice through UCAS – Complete scholarship application by 10 March – Household income up to £25,000 and under-represented groups
  • Brunel Financial Support 2012/13• Brunel Access Scholarships – Up to 380 students per year – Level 1: £1,000 – Level 2: £1,500 (subject to meeting progression criteria) – Level 3: £2,000 (subject to meeting progression criteria) – Taken either as: (a) a fee waiver or (b) discount on the cost of on-campus accommodation or (c) a cash award – Make Brunel University Firm choice through UCAS – Complete scholarship application by 10 March – Under-represented groups
