Parker, Jr. is a senior executive with proven ability to craft highly effective business strategies, build committed executive teams, and drive marketplace success. He is market focused and strategic, and is adept at building brand recognition for little known brands through identifying new markets and developing sales, marketing, distribution, and media and advertising approaches. An astute financial and operational manager, he is highly capable in managing a full spectrum of functions, including P&L, product pricing, reinsurance transactions, and investment portfolios – all while containing costs and meeting customer expectations. An industry expert, Mr. Parker is a sought after speaker and consultant with expertise on strategies and products to address the Baby Boomer market, strategic planning and cost analysis, and building effective teams. Mr. Parker is the former President, CEO and Chairman of Old Mutual US Life and held leadership responsibilities for several of its subsidiaries. As head of OM Financial Life Insurance Company, he oversaw performance of a company with $19.3 billion in statutory-basis assets, including delivery of a portfolio of annuities and life insurance products distributed throughout the US by an established group of independent distributors. Among his many accomplishments is his leadership of the retail business strategy development for Old Mutual US, an effort that aligned markets analysis, products, pricing, and distribution as well as advertising, to successfully raise brand visibility and extend the company’s domestic market reaches. In 2006, Mr. Parker became CEO of Old Mutual Capital, a $7.5 billion asset management company offering a Mutual Fund, Hedge Fund and Separately Managed Accounts. There, he set strategic direction with a focus on affluent and mass market Baby Boomer population, and worked with two independent boards representing the Mutual Fund Trusts. He also served on mergers and acquisitions (M&A)committee, leading the successful acquisition of Sage Life Bermuda Ltd., into a new company, Old Mutual Bermuda Ltd., - a $7.0 billion firm with annual revenues of $3.0 billion. Subsequently he oversaw the distribution of investment products to non-U.S. residents through global financial institutions in a variety of markets around the world. He also built a comprehensive strategy focused on the Baby Boomer and Hispanic markets in the US and the affluent offshore markets, growing revenues from $5.0 billion to over $8.2 billion in two years, and increased overall profitability from $210 to $620 million. Mr. Parker began his tenure with the company when he as recruited to lead a transition team successfully integrating the Fidelity and Guaranty Life Insurance and / Americom Life and Annuity Insurance Companies into the Old Mutual Financial Network. Prior to Old Mutual, Mr. Parker held the position of Senior Vice President of Distribution for Jefferson Pilot Financial, where he designed and implemented their Premier Partner Strategy growing revenue by 50% in three years by increasing the number of top sales personal in all distribution outlets. Additionally, he served as a Member of the Executive Management and M&A Committees. As Senior Vice President at Prudential Preferred, he provided leadership of the US Southern region, and led the integration of two distribution and management teams into one new structure; creating synergies that reduced the overall cost structure by 30% and created a new product offering for the company. He served as a member of Prudential’s demutualization team from 1999 to 2000, creating plans for the future structure and product offerings for the career agent distribution system. Mr. Parker is a member of American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), a Trustee of The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA, and a Board Member for LIMRA International. He is an industry speaker, consultant and author of over 25 articles on various topics. He is an expert in building effective executive teams, implementing strategy, developing Baby Boomer strategies for financial service companies, and creating synergies for cost effective business strategies. He earned his M.S. Management from The American College, a B.A., Economics from the State University of New York at Oswego, and attended the Executive Leadership Program at Cornell University. He holds LUTCF, CLU, ChFC Designations and FINRA series 7, 6, 65 and 26 licenses.
    6. Methodology • Working with the teams in place to build the strategy, create the implementation plan and to monitor the excepted vs the actual results of the project. • Step 1. In depth analysis using structure interviews to assess the current state of the business, the capabilities of the executive team and gaps that need to be addressed • Step 2. Build a comprehensive plan from the findings in Step 1 that will have the backing of the existing team, executives and boards. This plan can be anything from plugging the gaps to creating a completely new strategy for the business.
    7. Methodology (cont.) • Step 3. Use the existing team ( and other new team members) along with outside specialist to create the implementation plan using detailed project management principals. • Step 4. Complete a post implementation check list of key deliverables and measurements that will be delivered at time to be determined by the customer, i.e., 3,6, or 9 months out.
