Counselor: Help Explore Careers • He is a career counselor who serves a diverse population of low-income Minnesotans. • He likes that ISEEK connects people with their own career – it helps them to see something tangible and real that they can explore and do. Counselor: Use Assessments He uses ISEEK’s Career Interest Assessment  It is easy to use; customers can do it on their own.  He uses the results with individuals to identify what career clusters of jobs are a good fit with their interests. ISEEK helps customers to expand thinking about career opportunities. ISEEK makes people more open minded, to move beyond the same things they’ve been doing all their lives.   16. 16. Counselor: Help Find Jobs in MN  Some his participants have a sense of urgency to find jobs.  ISEEK links the career information to jobs. This is helpful for people who are stuck, aren’t sure about what they want to do. Participants can find the job and then apply online all at once. It’s a seamless process. ISEEK’s Career Profile is an important tool for counselors to help participants to secure jobs in MN.

Counselor: Help Translate Credit  He helps “foreign nationals” who need to determine U.S. credit for foreign degrees.  He uses the link from ISEEK to help them translate their foreign credentials with U.S. equivalents. Workforce Center Counselor: Access WIA Training and LMI Before authorizing training, she refers her customers to ISEEK to learn about what a career entails (e.g., what are your daily activities at work – standing, sitting, outside, inside). She uses the labor market information to see how much an occupation pays.
