  • Can do with more computers as long as they all meet this criteria

  • If you’ve set up a Project for a collection before, but didn’t share it, you’ll need to set up a new Project using these steps
  • This is the folder you set up in the second step discussed at the beginning of this presentation
  • Emphasize fact that they’ll have to select the sub-folder

    2. 2. Sharing Projects in CONTENTdm <ul><li>Why share projects? </li></ul><ul><li>So multiple people can access and edit items in a collection without having to share the same computer. </li></ul>
    3. 3. Sharing Projects in CONTENTdm <ul><li>First, you’ll need (at least) two computers that: </li></ul><ul><li>Have Project Client installed </li></ul><ul><li>Are connected to the same network </li></ul><ul><li>Have access to the same folder on the network </li></ul>
    4. 4. Sharing Projects in CONTENTdm <ul><li>Second, within the shared network folder set up a new folder dedicated to Project Client files </li></ul>
    5. 5. Sharing Projects in CONTENTdm <ul><li>Third, create the collection within CONTENTdm that will be shared (if it doesn’t already exist) </li></ul>
    6. 6. <ul><li>To do so, log in into the web-based CONTENTdm Administration screen </li></ul>
    7. 7. <ul><li>Click the “Server” tab </li></ul>
    8. 8. <ul><li>Click “Add” under Collections </li></ul>
    9. 9. <ul><li>Then, create and configure a collection that fits your needs </li></ul>
    10. 10. Sharing Projects in CONTENTdm <ul><li>Once your collection is created, you’ll need to set up a project for it in Project Client on one of the computers… </li></ul>
    11. 11. <ul><li>Open Project Client </li></ul>
    12. 12. <ul><li>Select “Create New Project” </li></ul>
    13. 13. <ul><li>Enter your server and log in credentials and click “Next” </li></ul>
    14. 14. <ul><li>Choose the collection you want to set up a shared project for, click “Next” </li></ul>
    15. 15. <ul><li>Give your Project a name </li></ul>
    16. 16. <ul><li>Check “Share this project on a network with other users” </li></ul>
    17. 17. <ul><li>Click “Browse” to locate the shared network folder that your Project will reside in </li></ul>
    18. 18. <ul><li>Browse to the shared folder, select it and click OK </li></ul>
    19. 19. <ul><li>Finally, click Finish </li></ul>
    20. 20. <ul><li>Project Client will open your new shared project. You’re done with this computer! </li></ul>
    21. 21. Sharing Projects in CONTENTdm <ul><li>Now, you’ll need to import the shared project on each one of the other computers that should access it. </li></ul><ul><li>On each of those computers, open Project Client and… </li></ul>
    22. 22. <ul><li>Select “Import Shared Project” </li></ul>
    23. 23. <ul><li>Select “Browse” </li></ul>
    24. 24. <ul><li>Navigate to the shared folder on the network, select the sub-folder that has the name of your project, click OK </li></ul>
    25. 25. <ul><li>Click “Import” </li></ul>
    26. 26. <ul><li>Project Client will open the shared project. You’re done with this computer! </li></ul>
