Once a fisherman was sitting near seashore, under the shadow of a tree smoking his cigarette.
Suddenly a rich businessman passing by approached him and enquired as to why he was sitting under a treesmoking and not working. To this the poor fisherman replied that he had caught enough fishes for the day.
The businessman then asked, but what do you do with the rest of your time? The fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take a nap with my wife, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my friends; I have a full and busy life."
Hearing this the rich mangot angry and said, “Why don’t you catch more fishes instead of sitting in shadow wasting yourtime?” Fisherman asked, “What would I do by catching more fishes?”
Businessman: You could catch more fishes, sell them and earn more money, and buy a bigger boat. Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: You could go fishing in deep waters and catch even more fishes and earn even more money. Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: You could buy many boats and employ many people to work for you and earn even more money. Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: You couldbecome a rich businessman like me. Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: "Then you would retire. Move to asmall coastal fishing villagewhere you would sleep late, fish a little. You could then enjoy your life peacefully."
Moral # 1 : You don’t need to wait for tomorrow to be happy andenjoy your life. You don’t even need to be more rich, more powerful to enjoy life. LIFE isat this moment, enjoy it fully.
Moral # 2 : One should be satisfied with what one has.If someone is not satisfied one should look at those people who have nothingor the children who live on the streets who know that they have a break futurebut that does not stop them from enjoying themselves in the rains!!!!!!
Moral # 3 : People matter the most. Not money, not assets, not things, not stuff. Friends, family, relationships. We neglect and even destroyimportant relationships and we hurt people we love because of our pride, our selfishness and ourneed to be right. We tell ourselves we’re right and we hurt others, we paralyze ourselves emotionally,we kill relationships, we make ourselves sick and in all of it, there are no positives to be found!
Moral # 4 : If you could plan it, how would you spend your lastday on Earth?Know what really matters in life, and you may find that it is already much closer thanyou think. What do your answers tell you about your real priorities in life?
