The Triple Filter Test By Socrates! - Very Motivational Story!!! The Triple Filter Test By Socrates! - Very Motivational Story!!! Presentation Transcript

  • The Triple Filter TestCreated By Sompong Yusoontorn
  • But the truth of the story is the same!!! There’s a common knowledge story kicked around about “The Triple Filter Test.” Sometimes it involves Socrates and other times it involves an Arab scholar,
  • In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem.
  • “Do you know what I just heard about your friend?” One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said,
  • “The Triple Filter Test” “Before telling me anything, I’d like you to pass a little test. It’s called…” “Hold on a minute!!!”
  • “The Triple Filter Test” “Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you’re going to say. That’s why I call it… “Triple filter?” “That’s right”
  • “Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?” The first filter is TRUTH.
  • “Actually I just heard about it and…” “NO”
  • “So you don’t really know if it’s true or not. Now let’s try the second filter, the filter of GOODNESS. “Alright” “Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?”
  • “On the contrary!!!” “NO”
  • So you want to tell me something bad about him, but you’re not certain it’s true. Now let’s try the third filter, the filter of USEFULNESS. “Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?”
  • “Not really!!!” “NO”
  • “If what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful…. “Well” “Why tell it to me at all?”
  • Most people leave it at that and assume that the story is just about the information we spread. The real truth behind it, however, is About the information we seek and create!!!
  • Imagine how different the world would be if we only chose to seek or create information that was… TRUE, GOOD AND USEFUL!!! Thank You Very Much Sompong Yusoontorn
