  • 3. Leadership is an art because it continually evolves, changes form, and requires creativity. It is a science because there are certain essential principles and techniques required. A good leader knows when it is time to change shape because they are highly attentive to those around them. What do you think makes a great leader? Here are 10 leadership tips of great leaders that you must know :
  • 4. Tip # 1 : Have Mentor
    Mentors can act as an impartial sounding board. They create valuable space and time for you to ‘stand back’ and review where you are now, where you want to get to, and how best to get there. Contribute viewpoints, advice, and information from their own knowledge, experience and expertise. Assist you to achieve changes and goals to enhance your professional and personal life.

  • 6. Tip # 2 : Have Network
    Excellent leaders are master networkers. Excellent leaders know that being a part of one
    or more professional associations is important. More importantly they get involved and volunteer their expertise.

  • 8. Tip # 3 : Strong Believe In Team 
    Above all believe in every member in the team. No matter how independent we are as individuals, we depend on others to define ourselves and create purpose in our lives.

  • 10. Tip # 4 : Be Goal - Oriented
    Great leaders set goals in some way or another. When we have a sense of community and focus,
    we create trust and can help each other to achieve our goals. Managing people doesn't just
    mean acting as a watch dog but it to see that they get their work done satisfactorily. It also means
    involving people throughout in a creative role, to ensure that together we are all able to succeed.

  • 12. Tip # 5 : Ask For Help
    We would stay in formation with those headed where we want to go. We are willing to accept their help and give our help to others. Don't be afraid to ask for help; our success might depend on it. When we ask someone for help, we are implicitly asking him to place a bet on us. The more people we get to bet on us, the larger our network of investors and the shorter the odds.

    In groups where there is encouragement, production is much greater. Let's not underestimate our people
    and always remember, their views can enhance everything: methods, standards, processes and overall
    effectiveness. The managers are paid to make sure that there are enough ideas to make things work and
    go on working. Let's use our people and make it clear to them that we want and value their contributions.

  • 16. Tip # 6 : Our Communication Matters
    If we talk down to another team member, use sarcasm, or sound nasty, others hear us. Once a senior
    manager of an organization told me, "I know I shouldn’t scream at my team member. But, sometimes,
    they make me so mad. Tell me when is it appropriate for me to scream at the team members?" My
    answer is simple- Never! Giving respect for our people is a hallmark of our organization.

  • 18. Tip # 8 : Get The Hand Dirty
    I love when I watch a leader jump in and get dirty. True leaders are able to put aside their role and do whatever needs to be done - even if it's not glamorous. We should be a performer and we should demonstrate the same to our team. Performance is itself the most effective communication down the line.

    Leader has to be humble in way to consider part and parcel of the team and not above the team. Excellent leaders do not flaunt their status or power. They are humble and have a commitment to serve others.

  • 22. Tip # 10 : Develop Others To Find Their Potentials
    Excellent leaders make developing and challenging others a priority. Every team members in our organization has talents, skills, and experience. If we can help them to harness their best abilities, the entire organization will grow. Let’s compliment, recognize, praise, and value contributions. By doing this, team members do find and contribute their best.
