There are many ways to avoid success in life, but the most sure-fire just might be procrastination.Procrastinators sabotage themselves. They put obstacles in their own path. They actually choosepaths that hurt their performance. Here are 10 habits of highly successful procrastinators that wemust know and try not to follow them. Do you have any of these habits???
Habit # 1 : Start The Day After TomorrowProcrastinators are known to have uncontrollable actions. They dont pay bills on time. They missopportunities for buying tickets to concerts. They leave their Christmas shopping until Christmaseve. Prevent yourself from resisting to given tasks. If it’s difficult for you to accomplish a task, doit one at a time. Don’t easily give up and mange your time well. Do it today, not tomorrow!!!
If we were to start today to try harder, and in every way make a conscious and consistent effort to change subtle and deadly errors into constructive and rewarding disciplines, we would never again settle for a life of existence – not once we have tasted the fruits of a life of substance!
Habit # 2 : It doesn’t matterThey are so caught up in the current moment that it doesnt seem to matter. The problems and therewards of today are so absorbing to some human beings that they never pause long enough tothink about tomorrow. By disciplining ourselves to see the future in advance, we would be able tochange our thinking, amend our errors and develop new habits to replace the old.
Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. We do not fail overnight. Failure is the inevitable result ofan accumulation of poor thinking and poor choices. To put it more simply, failure is nothing more than a few errors in judgment repeated every day.
Habit # 3 : I’m busyThey protect their sense of self by saying "this isnt important.” Being busy is not the problem.Being busy because of neglect and seeing new opportunities disappear because youre so busyis. Regretting not having finished a task sooner is far worse a feeling than the troubles that comewith doing the task now, freeing up your time for whats important to you.

Habit # 4 : Think too longWe may not always feel as confident as we would like when we set out to do what we sense to beright. We may struggle with doubts and fears and second guesses; these all mingling with our faithin a kind of gumbo. Still, faith is more about the choice we make, rather than the emotion we feel.So get started. Don’t screw things up by thinking about it too long.
"To think too longabout doing a thing often becomes its undoing." - Eva Young
Habit # 5 : I’m sorry. I can’t make decisions! The procrastinator are procrastinating because they can’t decide what action to take, and areputting off making a decision because they are nervous about making the wrong choice. When youdo these tasks determines whether they are urgent or not. If you chose to be pro-active and figuredout that "hey, Im going to be doing this anyways, I might as well do it now" you would be stress-free!
"Nothing is so fatiguing asthe eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task.“ - William James
Habit # 6 : I’m lazyPutting off an important task for a short period because you’re feeling particularly tired isn’tnecessarily procrastination either, so long as you don’t delay starting the task for more than aday or so, and this is only an occasional event. But if you’re simply “making an excuse”because you really just don’t want to do it, then you are. Don’t be lazy, be consistent!!!
Tomorrow is the only day in the year that appeals to a lazy man. - Jimmy Lyons
Habit # 7 : Take the lazy stepMaking the big thing is very difficult for the procrastinators, because they see obstacles in the problem. However, if you start from the easier step and start doing it step by step, you can achieve what youwant. You don’t have the answer now, but the way you do will lead you to the answer soon. Small dailyaction together and you will begin to work your way from where you are to a new and better place.
Take control of little actions and you will build back toa greater vision of your life.
Habit # 8 : No inspirationNo one has any. Either you create inspiration and motivation or you dont. Its actually your choice.Be kind to yourself. Don’t panic if you are down. The wonderful thing is that the human spirit has thecapacity to bounce back. Sometimes we have to allow ourselves a grieving period and not judgeourselves for being human. No matter how bleak things are, time does heal. Set your goals now!!!
People are not lazy. They simply have impotentgoals - that is, goals that do not inspire them. - Tony Robbins
Habit # 9 : Make an excuseMaking excuses can put the brakes on our progress. Excuses are harmful because they preventone from succeeding. When we make excuses and repeat them often enough, they become abelief. By refusing to make excuses and embracing responsibility, we reap many rewards. Thesuccesses brought by this attitude act as a foundation for self-respect, pride, and confidence.
Resolve to start acceptingresponsibility today. Dont find an excuse, find a way.Dont make excuses, make good. Remember what Winston Churchill said,"Responsibility is the price of greatness."
Habit # 10 : Focus on low priority tasksIt’s about time management. This will help you control your time and your workload more efficiently. We all have the same amount of time available to us (24 hours a day), is what we do with it that makesthe difference in how effective we are. The first step to better manage time is to find out where it goes. Are you doing what you should? Are you meeting your priorities and your goals?
These time management activities will make a difference in the way you manage your time, however its important to remember that timemanagement is not a one time activity. It needs consistency and discipline.
