Local SEO: Tip #1
Get your address, phone number and hours and contact information on each page of your site.
Good local SEO is about saturation! Make it easy for your local customers to contact you, find your location and do business with you.
Best practice for local brick and mortar, have your website address on EVERYTHING (receipts, bags, literature).

Local SEO: Tip #2
Optimize your Website:
Content: Should be written for your readers, then optimized with keywords that are relevant!
Keywords: Usually 2-5 keywords per page, should be relevant to your site and fit naturally into your page content.
Title Tag: Should be descriptive include keywords and a call to action.
Meta Tag Description: Is the summary of the content on your page in the Search Engines.
H1 Tag: Page headline which should include keywords.
URL Structure: Page filename.
Image Tags: Should contribute to page.
XML Sitemaps: Allow search engine to index your pages.
Internal Linking: Tells the search engines what pages are most important.
External Link Building: external links pointing to your site tells SE’s that other sites trust you.

3. Get your business listed in as many general and niche local online directories. Here are some free general & local directories:

Local profiles
Videos
Article submission
Goal is when someone searches for keywords you want to dominate naturally for similar type of keywords.

Track EVERYTHING you do:
Add Google Analytics.
Add a tracking phone number.
For Brick and Mortar stores, create promotions this will help track where customers are coming from.
Measurement will allow you to know what is working for your business and allocate more money into the local SEO efforts that are producing results.
