The List (http://thelist.razstrategy.com) is a customizable, online checklist for travelers, made by my buddy Shahar at Raz Strategy (http://www.razstrategy.com).

Here are some friendly suggestions I made of quick ways to improve the List's usability, most of which have been implemented already! Shahar has graciously let me publish these suggestions online, so here they are.

Enjoy, Brian

  • 16. A. Terms of Use - Suggestion By clicking any link on this page, you accept our terms of use. Take away the checkbox
  • 17. A. Terms of Use - Suggestion By clicking any link on this page, you accept our terms of use. That way, your users have one-click access to the lists and you are legally protected!
  • 18. List Types Communicating
  • 19. B: List Types There are pre-made lists and the custom list option. I think the distinction could be made more clearly by: 1. Using clearer “call to action” language 2. Making the custom list form look more like a form
  • 20. Perhaps like this…? By clicking any link on this page, you accept our terms of use.
  • 21. Perhaps like this…? By clicking any link on this page, you accept our terms of use. Two Main Options: Content portion divided into two, equally “heavy” areas
  • 22. Perhaps like this…? By clicking any link on this page, you accept our terms of use. Two Main Options: Large headings double as calls to action, telling the user what s/he can do
  • 23. Perhaps like this…? By clicking any link on this page, you accept our terms of use. Visual Flow: Both areas are laid out to promote a top-bottom/left- right visual flow (would have to be adapted for Hebrew version)
  • 24. Perhaps like this…? By clicking any link on this page, you accept our terms of use. Visual Flow: The custom list parameter form is clearer, giving clues about the meanings of the different values. The user goes through the form and is invited to click the visually heavy button on the right (with indicative text)
  • 25. List Page 2 Small Suggestions
  • 26. Clickable Hot Spots To check off an item, the user can only click here
  • 27. Clickable Hot Spots It would be nice if s/he could click anywhere in here
  • 28. List Legibility The lists could be made a tad more legible by inserting some whitespace between new headings and the list above them.
  • 29. Enjoy, Shahar! I hope this was helpful. Good luck with the list and everything else!
