      • Beverly Hills Purveyors was developed as an extension of China Global Venture’s China Market Entry Program. After being engaged by a client to establish wine distribution in China, we founded the company to service the client and capitalize on the burgeoning wine market in China. BHP was launched with the intent of building the infrastructure, setting up distribution, and then positioning the company for acquisition by a wine group looking to enter the Chinese market.
      • Performed detailed market research and feasibility studies of the wine market in China including focus groups with Chinese distributors and consumers, pricing studies, and competitive research
      • Created pricing models, setup logistics infrastructure, and sought regulatory approvals for the portfolio of products
      • Obtained a $50,000 grant from the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA) for 2008
      • Developed Corporate Gift Program for Chinese corporations and government purchasing agencies

      • I was recruited to join China Global Ventures for the purpose of expanding the China consulting practice. In this business development capacity, I re-branded the company, created new programs, and forged new industry partnerships. Our team consulted U.S. companies looking to acquire, establish, or joint venture with Chinese factories. We performed detailed market research and feasibility studies in China to complement our acquisitions and joint ventures
      • Developed and marketed Supply Chain Management Program to U.S. clients, thus creating a repeatable, systematic program to establish and manage China supply chains, while ensuring manufacturing, communication, and logistical excellence
      • Facilitated U.S. automotive client to perform a thorough partner search, due diligence, and cost studies related to a Greenfield operation in Shanghai, China

      • China Global Conference included over 15 world-renowned authorities on China trade, including Chinese economists Yushi Mao and Min Tang. The conference was part of our U.S. Market Entry Program, in which we hosted over 100 Chinese companies looking to invest in the U.S. market. My role included getting sponsors, driving attendance, and gaining U.S. and Chinese government support.

      • Secured and structured a joint venture in Shenzhen, China to compliment our U.S. staff of project managers and product development specialists
      • Executed a multi-year exclusive private label manufacturing contract with Feller’s - the largest distributor in the sign and graphics industry
        • HGI became the exclusive offshore supplier for Feller’s product line
        • Feller’s increased profits an average of 65% on each item that HGI manufactured in China
        • Sold and shipped over 25 containers of product to Fellers during contract

The product launch included a press and trade show launch in the sign and graphics industry in conjunction with the SGIA and ISA trade shows
      • Designed and implemented quality systems and infrastructure in China to ensure run-to-run manufacturing consistency, as well as flawless logistical support
      • Structured strategic partnerships with printer manufacturers Mimaki and Mutoh to serve as trusted endorsements for the quality of our materials

      • Managed $4MM distribution division of company to include sales, purchasing, and production teams totaling 15 team members
      • Located, qualified, and developed new supplier base in Southeast Asia (China, Vietnam, Japan) for flexible magnetic sheeting and magnetic assemblies resulting in a first year savings of over $145,000
      • Created value added revenue streams with existing customer base to include assemblies, injection molding, and packaging, thus increasing the value of average orders by over 45%
      • Implemented e-commerce website www.magnetshop.com as a new revenue stream for company, resulting in reduced labor costs and increased profitability
      • Developed and launched mFlex™ product line for the sign and graphics industry. This included product development, offshore manufacturing, and package design. The sales launch included a market entry plan, as well as a press and trade show launch in the sign and graphics industry
      • Implemented SalesLogix customer relationship management system and trained sales team to use the program to more effectively sell company’s products

      • Transitioned our business from a component supplier of magnets to a complete assembled product supplier for this consumer line of products, thus resulting in a revenue increase of over 800% per unit
      • Leveraged partnership with Chinese factory to innovate on our behalf, resulting in our factory being the only factory in China that met the strict requirements for the surface quality of the product
      • First year sales of 6 SKU’s was $350,000, ramping up 45% in year 2
      • Developed and implemented quality control system and trained Chinese factory on the requirements of the system
      • Performed quality control audits with ACCO in our Chinese manufacturing facility

      • With a passion for marketing and business development, as well as a well-established network of leaders on the University of Michigan’s campus of 35,000 students, I was selected as the first-ever Student Brand Manager for Red Bull Corporation during their launch in the Michigan market.

      • Developing a launch and distribution strategy on Michigan’s campus

      • Performing detailed market research on campus restaurants, stores, and bars

    2. University of Michigan - Industrial and Operations Engineering I studied Industrial and Operations Engineering with an additional focus on marketing, entrepreneurship and business classes. I worked my way through school working with my mentor, Andy Crawford, a professor of entrepreneurship in the College of Engineering. I was responsible for all of the online training materials for the Leadership and Team Building Module of Engineering 101 course.
