  1. 1. 2 nd QUARTER REPORT SAN ANGELO CITY COUNCIL SEPTEMBER 20, 2011

SUMMARY APRIL, MAY, JUNE, 2011 BOARD MEETINGS AND ACTIVITIES <ul><li>Lee Pfluger, as a member of the Design Committee continued negotiations for pocket park at the Southeast corner of Twohig and Oakes. </li></ul><ul><li>Members of the Economic Restructuring Committee and DSA Executive Director toured the Trimble-Batjer building with building contractor. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Continued the Wooly Bully Festival Series including the May 31 st Miss Wool Parade in celebration of National Preservation month and San Angelo’s agricultural history. </li></ul><ul><li>Stephens Central Library is a new addition to DSA’s Art Walk every 3 rd Thursday. </li></ul><ul><li>Bob Stribling and an intern completed the initial Parking survey. </li></ul><ul><li>Economic Restructuring Sub-committee continues to research long term parking issues. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>Researching the potential for Retail Incubator for entrepreneurial efforts and “Pop-up” or Seasonal Shops. </li></ul><ul><li>Met with City Staff and Bo Briley (Republic) to discuss trash removal from the Downtown area. </li></ul><ul><li>Met with a representative of Backdoor Productions regarding a one-day music festival in the Downtown area. </li></ul><ul><li>Worked with Downtown merchants, the CVB, and local hotels to promote the “Sheep Thrills” Program. </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Executive Director assisted at the CVB booth during the June Coaches Clinic. </li></ul><ul><li>DSA staff hosted CW Fields, Developer, in June. Joe O’Connor provided a tour of the Trimble-Batjer building. </li></ul><ul><li>Executive Director attends meetings with BRC, BREP, Economic Development Council, CVB, Development Review Committee, Concho Valley Transit, City Council, COSADC. </li></ul><ul><li>DSA Executive Director regularly attends meetings of the Economic Development partners. </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Activities of the Executive Director include </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Graduation; Leadership San Angelo </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Presentation and assistance during the THC Workshop at Stephens Central Library in June. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Staff continues to assist 4 business development prospects. </li></ul><ul><li>Growing crowds can enjoy the Downtown Movies through September. </li></ul>
